I’m a snacker by nature. My mom says from the time I started eating she had to carry snacks in her purse because I was ALWAYS hungry. To this day I would prefer to eat little meals every hour instead of three meals a day. Unfortunately this leads me to unhealthy choices like cereal, energy bars, cookies and the like. That is, until I found this recipe floating around Pinterest.
This recipe is so versatile and simple. You need a can of garbanzo beans/chickpeas, a little olive oil, and flavoring. For this recipe I used garlic powder but the options are endless.
The downside to these is how hard it is to eat only one serving! One can of beans should make about 4 servings of “chips”… but they are so hard to stop eating! Just keep telling yourself with all that fiber it has to be good for you 😉
Try them with cayenne pepper for a little spice or cinnamon and sugar for something sweet.
- 1 15oz can garbanzo beans
- 1 T olive oil
- Seasoning: garlic powder, salt and pepper, cayenne pepper, cinnamon sugar, etc
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F and line a baking sheet with greased foil. Drain and rinse chickpeas, toss in olive oil and seasoning of choice, and spread evenly on baking sheet. Place in oven for about 15 minutes, shake pan, and return to oven for another 15 minutes. Enjoy!
